Literacy on a Course of Action

November 17, 2010

KNCthumbnailWith our Inaugural Golf Classic a proven success, the SAG Foundation has once again found sporting support from the golf community! Our new partnership with the historic Kraft Nabisco Championship is already in action, collaborating toward events in California’s Coachella Valley to benefit the Foundation’s Children’s Literacy Initiative.

This exciting joint venture launched on November 13 with a large-scale BookPALS (Performing Artists for Literacy) reading. MC’d by Rancho Mirage city councilmember Scott Hines; LPGA pros Nicole Castrale and Irene Cho, BookPALS Jeffrey Rhodes and Louise Tonti read from their favorite children’s books at Rancho Mirage’s The River Amphitheatre in celebration of the Initiative’s award-winning core literacy program.

Also featured at the November 13 BookPALS reading was the opportunity to purchase tickets for the 40th Anniversary Kraft Nabisco Championship, scheduled for March 28 – April 3, 2011 at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage. Through a generous arrangement courtesy of investment advisory firm Integrated Wealth Management’s TICKETS Fore CHARITY program, all proceeds from tickets sold at the BookPALS event for the Kraft Nabisco Championship directly benefit the Children’s Literacy Initiative.
