Voice-Over Community Antes Up at the Screen Actors Guild Foundation Inaugural Poker Classic.
The Screen Actors Guild Foundation hosted its Inaugural Poker Classic to benefit the Don Lafontaine Voice-Over Lab on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Joe and Ann Cipriano’s home.
Many poker playing celebrities, top voice-over artists, and industry leaders joined SAG Foundation for this first annual event. Sponsors Broadcast Supply Worldwide, SBV Talent, Red Wall Productions, TGMD Talent Agency, Integrated Wealth Management, Atlas Talent Agency, Entertainment Tonight/The Insider, VOSS and Patron helped raise funds for the Lab. The Poker Classic Host Committee: Dave Hutton, Stew Herrera, Paul Pape, David Marc, Randy Thomas, Joe Cipriano, Vanessa Gilbert and JoBeth Williams assisted in creating a special evening that not only helped sustain the Lab but also helped deepen the connection of the voice-over community.
“We are happy to celebrate the first anniversary of the Don LaFontaine Voice-Over Lab with our Inaugural Poker Classic,” said SAG Foundation President JoBeth Williams. “The SAG Foundation is proud of this innovative space where we continue to build our valuable partnership with the voice-over community.”
The Don Lafontaine Voice-Over Lab has been a positive force within the voice-over comm
unity helping to fuel creative development. One of the Don LaFontaine Voice-Over Lab core values is to serve the voice-over community by providing a state-of-the-art technical, educational and creative facility. The DLF VO Lab allows actors to work on voice-over craft, demos and auditions while classroom space hosts workshops, seminars and demonstrations led by experts in the field. In recognition of this, proceeds gained during the Poker tournament will provide beneficial support in allowing the voice-over lab to continue in assisting, educating and inspiring actors toward reaching their fullest potential.
