The Screen Actors Guild Foundation announced today that five-time Oscar nominee Leonardo DiCaprio will be honored with the organization’s Actors Inspiration Award. DiCaprio will receive the award on November 5 at an event in Los Angeles.

The award is meant to celebrate the actor’s career achievements on screen, but it will also commend his philanthropic work as the chairman of the environmentally-geared Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. Earlier this year, “Modern Family” actress Sofia Vergara was honored with the inaugural Actors Inspiration Award for her long-standing support of various nonprofits and children’s organizations.

Responding to the news, DiCaprio said, “It is an honor to be recognized by the SAG Foundation, a group which does so much to support, sustain, and educate my fellow actors and give back to the entertainment industry, as well as the work it has done to advance children’s literacy. As the SAG Foundation moves into its next 30 years, I’m proud to be a continuing supporter and contributor to its legacy and its future.”

Based on the gritty teaser for his upcoming film “The Revenant,” directed by reigning Best Director Oscar winner Alejandro González Iñárritu, DiCaprio looks likely to back in the awards conversation this year.
